Charity Work
Charity work
There are many charities operating on the Costa del Sol. Among the highest profile charities are Cudeca, which does wonderful work for cancer sufferers. There are also a number of animal charities such as Adana which looks after homeless dogs and cats. Many of these charities are run by British expatriates. After all, charity work has been a mainstay of British social life for generations.
The charitable organisations here are always looking for new blood and if you really want to be involved and have the time to do it, you could find charity work to be a very rewarding interest in your new life. Like everything, there are positives and negatives. Involvement will provide you with new social contacts with those who already work for the charity – the positive. Unfortunately many of these charities are run as social groups primarily and charities as a secondary function and new members in the group can be frowned upon because they want to introduce changes and those changes may not be welcomed by the old guard – this can be a negative.
