Optical services are just as well developed as they are in the UK but what does not yet appear to have reached the Costa del Sol is the large chain store approach to selling spectacles as fashion accessories. In every town or city you will find local opticians and if you ask the locals you will be able to find opticians who speak English because once more it can be much easier to take an eye test if you understand the questions. Despite the absence of the large chains of optical stores the cost of new glasses is not high on the Costa del Sol and the choice of frames is just as good as you would expect in the UK.
