Veterinary care

Veterinary care on the Costa del Sol is very good and surprisingly inexpensive compared to the fees we used to pay in SW London but it is very notable that many of the vets on the coast are not Spanish. They are British, German and Dutch. These are the vets who, back in the UK, I would have referred to as vets who specialise in small animals – in other words, pets. There are Spanish vets but they are more involved with looking after the commercial animals, the farm animals, because the one thing you learn here very quickly is that the local population do not keep pet animals to any great extent.
