MAXIMISING SOFT DRINKS SALES
Improving your soft drink sales will have a beneficial effect on your profits because of the high profit margins you earn on them. Recognising the importance of soft drinks to your business is the first step in selling more of them. Think about your target customers and how soft drinks can satisfy their needs, and then offer a range of quality soft drinks that will achieve this.
Here are some ways that you can sell more soft drinks:
- Stock good quality, big brands.
- Keep them correctly chilled.
- Display your premium-packaged soft drinks in bottle fridges and on your back-bar.
- Serve in highball glasses with plenty of ice and sliced fruit.
- Make 16oz (glass size) servings your standard.
- Offer jugs of soft drinks to share.
- Offer a range of summer no-alcohol cocktails.
- Train staff to sell soft drinks alongside food.
- Sell bottles of mineral water with wine orders.
- Have a kids’ soft drinks menu.
- Have ‘drivers’ shelf offers’ (special deals for drivers).
- Use branded glassware and promotional material.
- Offer a cut-price soft drink with lunchtime meals.
