Overflow car parks

Car parks have a known or at least estimated capacity. Car park marshals and supervisors should be aware of the capacity and the number of cars currently in the car park or more usefully an estimate of the number of spaces left.

It may seem unfair that late arrivals should be allowed to park nearby when others have had to park some distance away. However, looking at the bigger picture, it is preferable that the flustered late arrival should park legally in your car park, rather than rush to a distant car park and risk having an accident, or possibly park illegally. Getting them safely off the street and into the event is the prime objective at this stage.
