Private security

Hiring private security will most certainly be cheaper and easier to arrange than police presence, but security staff are usually limited in number and often have less training, ability, power and equipment.

They could be used to cover the same points and whilst their presence will be a deterrent, it will not be as powerful as police presence. You may wish to raise the matter of security while discussing plans with the local police force, which may be able to advise you.
