You should now:

  • accept that you have a legal obligation under the Health and Safety Act, as well as a moral duty to protect the health and safety of anyone affected by your event,
  • be aware of the risks associated with crowd dynamics and have taken steps to remove or minimise risks to an acceptable level,
  • take all precautions to ensure that your event is as safe as it can be made and be aware that you have to continually monitor and assess safety and risks during the event,
  • know how and when to undertake a risk assessment, record the details and act on your findings,
  • understand the application of control measures and be aware of their effect on the hazards and risks under investigation, as well as associated hazards and risks,
  • be ready to identify and eliminate danger points from your plans,
  • ensure that rolling risk assessments are carried out as your plans evolve and you near delivery of the event,
  • draw up an event health and safety policy document, and
  • define and publish standing health and safety rules.
