Water

Mains water

Depending on the services you are offering you may need a supply of mains water for catering outlets and toilets. If possible the catering outlets you use should operate from self-contained water supplies. You may also rent toilets that operate from a reservoir of water held within the equipment.

In your discussions with the fire and rescue service you should also establish the location of fire hydrants and stand pipes, so that you can ensure that during your planning process you leave them clear and available for effective use.

Drinking water

You are obliged to provide a clean source of drinking water that is signposted and easily available to everyone on site. I usually try to make drinking water available for animals as well, because even if no pet dogs are bought onto the site, you may have a guide dog or two that is thirsty. A simple plastic washing up bowl underneath the drinking water tap will provide drinking water for any dogs.
