Coaching by a colleague

This is, in effect, ‘sitting by Nellie’. The colleague teaches a set of tasks or actions that contribute to producing the outcomes required of their job. This is an excellent means of teaching manual or clerical tasks and requires only basic coaching skills to be successful. This technique is less likely to be used for developing personal skills such as time management or delegation, as a competent trainer is required to really put such concepts across effectively.
