Mentoring

This is usually employed at management level to develop high flyers or young managers. The mentor is an experienced manager at a higher level, usually not in the department of the mentoree, who acts as a sounding board, advisor, guide and sometimes coach. To be really effective, the mentor must have a clear understanding of their role and be willing to give time when required.
