What sort of operating policies are in place?
- Does the company promote from within or bring in fresh blood from outside?
- Do departments communicate freely and work together or is there a competitive attitude based on ‘points scoring’ between departments?
- Does the managing director or chief executive have an open door policy or can they be seen by appointment only?
- If your company has more than 100 staff, how well do you know them all – would you recognize most of them if you bumped into them in the street (and would the chief executive know them)?
