BE READY FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR TECHNICAL AREA
Your CV may look good, but employers can still wonder whether you have the technical expertise to do the job. An IT consultant may get asked about hardware options and software applications. A university lecturer could be asked to discuss two opposing theories in his or her subject area. An HR officer might get asked questions about European employee legislation and disciplinary procedures.
So what are the key technical questions that you might be asked?
Make sure that you will not get caught out. Take 20 minutes and a blank sheet of paper to list the 20 or so most likely questions that you might be asked. If you discover that you have any gaps in your knowledge, now is a good time to go do some reading and find out the answer.
