How To Books Competition - £200 for the Best Article Submitted in July
To celebrate the launch of their new user submission service, How To Books are holding a writing competition throughout July.
Oxford based publishers How To Books are holding a writing competition throughout July to celebrate the launch of the new user submission system on their website. Any article submitted using the system throughout July will be automatically entered into the competition for the best article as chosen by the How To editors. The winner will be announced on the 16th of August and will receive a prize of £200, in addition to any earnings the article goes on to make.
In early 2009, Oxford publishers How To Books launched a new website, www.howto.co.uk , publishing all of their current works free to the user. The company generates their revenue through advertising, and authors are paid a share of this rather than being paid by the word.
Now authors are able to directly submit their articles for publication through an easy to use system that sends the articles directly to the editors of How To for approval. Unlike many other article sites, How To is run by a real-world publishing house with hundreds of books in print, meaning the quality of the content will remain consistently high. However, by introducing the new system, they are opening up the opportunity to be published to anyone who wants to try, in a move that recognises and supports the democratisation of publishing in an online society.
How To Books hope the competition will attract the large number of writers out there who are interested in sharing their invaluable skills and advice in exchange for real income for their writing. How To publish articles on practical topics ranging from careers and family to property and finance, and articles submitted in any category will be automatically submitted into their writing competition, but will continue to earn advertising revenue for as long as it is live.
With no cap on the number of articles any one author can submit, the sky really is the limit for How To authors.
