What you’ll be doing
Our work experience placement will be an exciting opportunity for you to see how a major publishing house works, gain an invaluable insight into the publishing industry, and learn about the role that each department plays in every step of a book’s journey.
We are offering a monthly, paid and fully flexible/remote work experience placement for one candidate per month. During your time with us, you will be placed within a department and given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain an in-depth understanding of the publishing process. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience across different departments – attending key company meetings, as well as the chance to ‘meet’ (in person or virtually) lots of different people across the company and senior team, and receive informal mentoring or career guidance.

Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone that has a passion for books and storytelling; someone that is keen to learn more about the publishing industry and the work we do; someone pro-active with a strong work ethic and a desire to gain and apply new skills.
To be eligible you must be over 18 at the point of placement and based in the UK.
No prior publishing experience is required.
What we offer:
In return we offer a creative and dynamic working environment and pro-rata pay in line with the Orion starting salary of £23,500 per annum. We also fully support flexible and remote working.
